Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the United States and Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since her age of nine. This ability which helped her obtain her first job as a Univision production assistant in Miami. In Miami, she collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station located in St. Petersburg hired her after this as an sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting at KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporting on stories on drugs and immigration issues across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she served as a news reporter on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5pm, then an anchor for the news channel in English at 9 pm and after which she became a news anchor until 10pm, before returning on the Spanish channel. Also, she would fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasstation, which is where she has more responsibility. She wrote pieces for sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. In addition, she hosted Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She became a sports host for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. She also played the role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are originally native to Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd, 1985, in Mexico City. She's more mature than her younger sister. In 1992, the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. The time of summer when she was with her sibling at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta is a senior in high school and had a clear idea of the path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice to her needs, Antonietta decided to go visit the school. The campus was a dream for her. It also gave her the program she was interested in. Her studies were completed and she was accepted into the University for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was a friend. He encouraged her to have confidence and his passion in journalism was a huge influence on her, and she determined to fulfill his standards and never let him down.
